Hmmm. So how far is GG willing to stoop to stay in the public eye? Anyone else share my worry that there may be a point where it actually does more harm than good? I mean, if shows like Big Brother are fundamentally trivializing and degrading--in the sense that that is their whole point and their appeal to viewers--then is it even possible to make something positive out of an association with them? GG I'm sure thinks he's co-opting the media, but what if it's really the media that's co-opting him?

I could go on asking questions like this forever. It's the answers that are the hard part. :)

I think it's fair to say that he's gonna have some work to do to regain 'respect' from a lot of people. The other week he attacked someone for one of those joke names that people phone in with (Colin Forsecks) as the person had tried to make a joke when there was a serious subject being talked about - can he continue to claim such moral high-ground after making this (entertaining) pap? I'm not so sure.

Haaaaarrrrrrrrryy Perkins!

Could it be that he's trying to pave the way for a lot more TV work once his term in Bethnal Green is up? Not being an MP will give him loads more free time, and we all know what a workaholic he is.

Yeah, maybe so, and I don't blame him for making sure he's got stuff on the go, but it's a fine line he's walking and I'm not so sure that he can maintain it and at the same time retain the respect of those who have given him their support over genuine issues.

I'm just being devil's advocate here of course. I enjoy the pap with the serious stuff as this site is testament to!

For a mass movement, George needs to reach the masses.

In his shoes, I wouldn't pass on the opportunity to be a host of a widely viewed show which may influence public views on items .. e.g. One of the house mates just got expelled for a racist comment .. George is bound to comment on that.

Politicians (including George) go on "Have I got news for you" .. that is comedy .. with a touch of news.

I've missed this show tonight as they put it on Channel 4 rather than E4 and I didn't realise... I'll get it somewhere else and upload it tomorrow
