LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Veteran CBS News and "60 Minutes" correspondent Ed Bradley died on Thursday of leukemia in New York, a network spokeswoman said. He was 65.

He died at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, she said.

If I'm still up I might watch this later - I think that 60 Minutes was the first time I saw american news.... years before 24 hr news channels they used to show it late at night on ITV.
This is sad news indeed. He was, I thought, one of the better anchors on 60 minutes. (and I'd love to see that cap, Irish. Although, Larry often repeats shows on the weekend, so perhaps it will replay then as well).
I recall about 15 or 16 years ago I was visiting a friend in Florida. Her boss was the mayor of the city at that time and was dealing with some big time real estate scammers who were basically selling people property they were "developing" but when they'd drive out there, it was basically nothing. Well, apparently 60 Minutes got wind of the story and Ed Bradley came out to interview him. It was neat to see the story later after having heard all the behind the scene details. I remember him telling me that he was a really nice guy over all.

Funny, you're not the first person I've heard of who thought this.... same thing with a couple of people at work today.
