"We are reminded that there are four Pakistani MPs in Parliament."

I thought they were British?

Hah I've just realised how Al Murray that last post sounds. :)

I think now is especially not the time to be bombing Pakistan and typical US black and white nonsense.

That said lets not call the MPs Pakistani - I don't think it's helpful and just fuels the ignorant.

Well, they are Pakistani British at least. Mohammed Sarwar is a good example of someone who was born in, and has used his links with, Pakistan (in the case of the killers of that young kid in Glasgow's Southside a couple of years back), so where is his voice?

I had my doubts about Sarwar especially after his initial election which was dodgy but he has done some good work.

As far as where he is now I read he is being driven out of office by racist Asians so I guess he's keeping his head down.

God forbid. :)

I saw it here but it is a year old.

Also unless you go for a big white racist conspiracy theory thing then you have Sarwar tried for bribery and then his son being found guilty of fraud so there is kind of a 'dodgy' cloud about the whole multimillionaire family.

isn't that pretty much what Galloway meant by saying "They’re just there to be reeled in when their political leaders want to justify an attack on Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia or Pakistan."

I just don't like the tone of this whole thing as reported.

Whether people share your particular supernatural beliefs about gods, goddesses or goblins should be entirely irrelevant when it comes to deciding whether they should be bombed or not.

George's implication is logically therefore that they are being bombed just because they are Muslims which is inflammatory and plainly wrong.

It's the wrong argument for the right cause.

It's kind of like going to white arms dealers and saying 'You shouldn't sell weapons to Mugabe because he's black'

They wouldn't be being bombed if they were white and Christian - that much is certain.
