The Golden Globes this year were very different. With actors showing solidarity with the writers, the red carpet stayed rolled up. However, I think it made the awards ceremony an actual awards ceremony and not just another show.
While I missed the dresses and glamor, I didn't miss the filler.

I bet a lot of people wish they could afford to go on strike!

Good luck to them though

While I support their strike and understand why they are doing it, it is causing financial difficulties for others. Gaffers, grips, camera, crew, etc. That is one reason Ellen Degeneres stayed on air and other shows like Jay Leno have come back on and David Letterman even came to his own agreement with his writers.

I'm with you on this one. The effects of the strike really filter down to so many other people. I'm glad that a few shows have either stayed on the air, or made arrangements to come back. I really think that if this goes on any longer, there will be a lot of upset advertisers out there. A lot of people are turning off the TV and watching more DVD's --- exactly what the writers don't want because they don't get as much money for the DVD's .

Just saw this on the news.... shocking. I would have expected Britney Spears to do something like this.

Ex-Baywatch star Pamela Anderson to do four live strip shows in Paris
02/02/2008

Pamela Anderson is to bare all in four live strip shows in Paris, it was revealed last night. Male fans are expected to pack out the Crazy Horse nightclub to see the 40-year-old ex-Baywatch star's saucy show.

She will tease them by dancing on stage to French rockers Harley Davidson - then flinging her kit off. A club spokeswoman said: "It's going to be sexy, beautiful, creative."

------------

oooh non non!

You'd have thought she'd made enough cash not to have to do this any more. But maybe she's just insecure about being 40 and wants hundreds of middle-aged bankers slavering over her to give her a boost.

I see that some pop singer has just had a brace of babies. I couldn't care less, but I thought some might be interested to know, though I can't imagine why.

I usually don't care what a celebrity does if it's nothing to do with their skills - and having babies is not a skill!

There has been so much in the news lately about celebrity babies. I honestly don't care myself. I've yet to figure out the fascination they have with the kids. They're just kids. I'm with you Face, having a baby is not a skill.
