Two things 1) Hope he had earplugs on and 2) I hope the train driver knew he had planned this because if he didn't what a wanker for putting him through that.

Probably he got his inspiration from 1900

Regardless it's even more dangerous than jumping from the Plane with parachute

I'll 2nd that.

I'm doubt he told the train driver ahead of time -- you can hear the brakes shortly after it passes.

What an idiot. What if there'd been a chain or something hanging down underneath, or if it had an unusually low front??

I thought about that too Kate and I figure if there had been there would be one less idiot in the world.

apart from the point about something hanging down from the train, the fact he has 'good' shoes on is what gets me. They just seem to be wrong in this situation.

I worked with a girl last year who's husband is a train engineer. One of his coworkers jumped off the train last year in front of the engine and committed suicide right in front of him. He's never been the same since. Games like this just aren't funny.

It's the smell eef'... you never can forget the smell of a human that's jumped (or fallen) in front of a moving train.
Seen a few on the London Underground over the years.... The stench is as bad if not worse than hitting a large animal with a truck at 70MPH...

Back to the fella on the rails...
Suprised nobody has said it yet... what a CUNT.
Stupid cunt at that...

I agree, what if there was something (anything) lower than usual like a chain....

I would have pissed myself with laughter however had somebody 'flushed' the toilet on the train as it was going over him...
(Do the toilets still empty onto the tracks?)

Drunk, sleepy man run over by train
Friday, January 11, 2008

A drunken Australian man who took a nap between railway tracks has had a miraculous escape after he was driven over by a freight train. He received only minor injuries and a bump on the head.

The 20-year-old, whose name hasn't been released, had dozed off at a level crossing at Port Augusta, in South Australia state, when the train approached about 3.40 am. The driver saw the man and slammed on the emergency brake, but the train, carrying 3000 tonnes of freight, was unable to stop in time and rolled over him, halting only after it had passed.

The General Manager of the train company, Tony Aldridge, said railway tracks were 'not the best place' to take a nap. 'It was probably lucky he was lying in such a way that the train actually went over him rather than across him,' he told The Australian newspaper, adding that the clearance under the train was only 30cm. The man was taken to Port Augusta hospital with minor injuries. Brilliantly, he apparently hit his head on the train while trying to sit up.

------------------

I had a pal once who fell asleep on the train tracks on the way home after a night on the booze - luckily the train stopped before slicing him to bits... he was charged with being a 'fecking idiot in Public' or soemthing like that.
