I doubt many of you outside the UK will have heard much about this guy, but he was recently found guilty of killing a Polish student who was staying in a church that's quite local to me. In the ensuing investigations into his background it turns out that 2 bodies have now been found at a house that he used to own in Margate, down in Kent.
The first body they found there was that of Vicky Hamilton who disappeared from Bathgate near Edinburgh 15 years ago. It was a huge story here at the time and has always been in the background, so to hear that at least they've found her body is quite something. Police are also linking Tobin to 3 murders in Glasgow in the 60s known as the 'Bible John Murders', which have been part of folkore here since they happened.
It's scary to think that this guy has been roaming about for all of these years....I hope that further investigation may provide closure for the families of the missing.
My husband was telling me about this, this morning. It's sad story indeed.
I am glad he has been caught and can only hope that all the families affected by this are able to find some sort of peace.
