funny you mention this, i was on the train the other day reading some leaflet i found on the seat for a great looking diwali event in trafalgar square where they were going to have all the lights and stuff - i was thinking yeah i'll go down and get some pics ... it happened on the 28th october - i'd missed it :(

Oh no Luke! That is such a shame.
I have been to some lovely Diwali celebrations but not in a long time. I am sure the Indian community here is doing something this year but I'm not sure. I'll have to keep a look out next year.
I know our big super market chain was having Indian food tasting, specials, etc.

They always have a big celebration here for this - a big procession and parties all over. Their main temple is an old victorian church with the most amazing architecture. I'll need to get a photo of it and let you's see.

Is that why there's been non-stop fireworks since about 5pm today? They're still going off right now.
