party funding

Post by luke »

i've just been taking a look through what sort of money the various partys can raise, and was surprised the socialists workers party raised more than respect!

from '04 respect raised £ 80,482.95 compared to £ 286,627.93 for the socialists - from '05!

the monster raving loony party only got £350 though

theres a lot of partys i'd never even heard of - mums army for one, they've raised £ 57,502.80! theres one called the blah party - they raised £ 232,460.95!

its a shame that a lot of these smaller partys with similar views can't join together to take on the dominant partys

respect needs to step up a gear big time

"The Blah Party" raised more than RESPECT? What? That's insane.

I'd guess with Respect the difference is that they are pretty much based in specific areas, whereas the SWP has representatives all over the country, especially in unis and colleges.

I was curious enough to look The Blah Party up - it actually looks like an advert for Seabrook crisps.

4. Should seagulls be given contraception?

These huge greedy birds are rapidly becoming a national menace. Living in close proximity to humans has made these creatures increasingly bold - we've all seen the blooming things harassing kids with bags of chips and the like. We certainly don't believe in cruelty to animals, but surely some strategically placed seagull snacks with a little added contraceptive would reduce the numbers to a more reasonable level?
great way of putting 230k to work!

I think you're joking, but this might in fact be a very clever way to write off advertising expenses as charitable (political) contributions. Nothing is below corporations...
