I've tried a few similar things in my time but nothing comes close to the real thing.

time to make 1¼ hours 15 min prep
Change to: cups US Metric
10 tomatoes, chopped
1 cup brown sugar
1 onion, chopped
1 lemon, sliced
1/4 cup white vinegar
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon allspice
1 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce (I use Tabasco)

1. Combine all ingredients in a dutch oven.
2. Bring to a boil, lower heat& cook, uncovered, for an hour, stirring occasionally.
3. Strain through a food mill& bottle in hot, sterilized jars.

I just checked on an HP bottle and here's the list (largest percentage first, smallest last)

Malt Vinegar
tomatoes
molasses
spirit vinegar
fructose syrup
dates
sugar
salt
rye flour
tamarind extract
spices
