Chicken Tikka On the Grill

Post by Aja »

Chicken Tikka on the Grill

Ingredients

Lime/lemon Juice - 2 tbsp
Yogurt - 1 cup
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Ginger paste - 2 tsp
Garlic paste - 2 tsp
Boneless Chicken - 1 lb
Salt - to taste
Black pepper- to taste

And as an after thought cos i change the way i cook this all the time .....Trying to better it ....last time i made it i made it i used Parrteks curry paste in stead of the chilli powder....Partaaks seems to be a brand that is getting to be so easy to buy here in the states...i get mine in the erm ethnic section at the local supermarket..next to the brit section :)

also I love the SHAN brand of Indian food mixes .. which i can actually pick up at my local gas sattion ...ok ok it is indian owned :) if u can get hold of the shan Chicken tikka mix..... just follow directions ite even easier ....

https://ishopindian.com/shop/catalog/Sha ... -c-87.html

anyways enjoy :)

Method
Clean the chicken And make 2 or Scores on each chicken breast , Rub lemon juice and salt and set aside for a few minutes.
Mix ingredients 1-7 into a smooth marinade. Add the chicken and let it marinate in the refrigerator for about 4 hours.

Cook the chicken on a pre-heated Grill for about 6-8 minutes. Baste it with The left over marinade, and cook On other side for 6-8 mins or untill the chicken is done.
Serve hot with sliced onion. Rice and chutneys and Naan bread (and some lemon wedges)

Ps i doubled the amounts on this recipe as i used 2 pounds of chicken ... and Yes I grill in the snow ...LOVE IT :)

... I'll definately be using this recipe, although if you replaced the drink with a pint of fine British Ale it would be absolutely perfect.

Now THATS more like it!

We (in Toronto) got off lightly this year too.

We didn't even have to call in the army this year (in joke for Canadians)
