The other day I saw that the original Star Trek series from the 60s had been remastered. One of the main reasons I didn't like the show as a kid was because of the visuals just not feeling real, so I downloaded the first few episodes and I can only say that I'm really impressed.
The main differences are in the cut-away shots as the USS Enterprise flies through space, but it's a big improvement as far as I'm concerned. I was now able to concentrate on the stories and they are surprisingly good. The first episode 'The Man Trap' is particularly interesting because it's what the writers of Red Dwarf must have ripped off when creating their 'Pleasure Gelf' episode. It was more than just copying the idea - it was a blatant steal! I wish I hadn't seen that now because it puts a dark cloud over the Dwarf and I'm a bit worried that I'll find more stories that have been lifted from Star Trek...
