I used to drink this a lot when I was younger, but I've not drunk it for years - until tonight. It hits the spot better than I can ever remember and it feels like I've found a whole new taste again. It's 4.5% alcohol and goes down in a way that makes me want to savour it, rather than just knock it back.
It really depends on where you are, we have a huge amount of drink tax here, so we will pay more in Pittsburgh then you would in Cleveland. So for us it's about $4 a bottle. Which isn't as good as a deal as you got

It is good stuff pirty. First time I tried it I loved it and I can honestly say I am picky about my ales!
Now I'm looking forward to it. I think we're gonna have Chinese tonight for dinner, so I'm gonna stop in the Publix next door to see if they have it, but they may not even have it. If not, I'll try Winn Dixie and Sweet Bay tomorrow. After that, if I can't find it, I'll have to look for a beer distributor. They'd definitely have it.
The first time I ever heard of this beer was in a skit that Catherine Tate did with Daniel Craig for some charity thing on tv...... I'll have to look for it here
Mothers Milk, Nectar of the Gods, yummy, are a few of the things I think of when drinking Newkie. To me it taste like iced tea. Those Geordies make a lovely beer. I have to drink it before I go to the bar because it is a very expensive beer round my parts ( i mean my local, around my parts sounds too much like my bits).
I found the Newcastle in Walmart, but they only had a 12 pack, so I didn't want to buy it in case I didn't like it, I'd be stuck with 11 bottles...lol! It was 13.97 for the 12 pack plus tax I'm assuming. We don't have a bottle deposit, so that's not lopped on the price. As soon as I find it in a 6 pack, I'll give it a go.
