Galloway on Question Time

Post by Brown Sauce »

Dear friend

*George and Blair's spin doctor face off*

George is appearing on the BBC's Question Time this Thursday (January 20)
and is set to clash head-on with another of the guests, Tony Blair's former
spin doctor Alastair Campbell.

The programme, on BBC1 at 10.35pm, comes on the eve of Blair's second
appearance before the Chilcot inquiry into the Iraq war. The British
government has refused to allow crucial documents to be made public and on
Monday the former attorney general, Lord Goldsmith, said that he was
'uncomfortable' about statements Blair made claiming that Goldsmith's legal
opinion gave the green light for war without the approval of the United
Nations.

Alastair Campbell's diaries have been recently serialised. Campbell was
accused on the BBC in the run-up to the war of 'sexing-up' a dossier on
Iraq's alleged weapons of destruction which may have played a major part in
persuading Members of Parliament to support Blair and the war.
