the problem is what pirty and the american media portray as left wing isn't recognised as such anywhere else in the world. what me and you think of as left is just way off the scale for pirty. i also think pirty, and the media, confuses liberal and left wing.
to pirty, the pro war, pro torture, pro capitalist, pro israel, pro business, pro the current model of globalisation mantra espoused by the likes of cnn and msnbc is left wing. remember, pirty thinks obama and the democrats are left wing - that obama is bringing 'full blown socialism' to america. so if thats left wing to pirty, its no surprise that she thinks the media that are more supportive of obama are left wing.
what the rest of the world sees as left wing is just way off the scale to pirty ( and probably to lots of americans ) - i mean, pirty probably thinks a lot of us on here are just mad loony extremists who are so far left we're just off the scale
pirty, can you name one mainstream american media outlet that was against the invasion of iraq? that was against the invasion of afghanistan? that is against the continuing occupations? that questions the official narratives for those occupations? that is against the policies of israel and supportive of justice for the palestinians? that is against capitalism? that is against the current model of globalisation? that has consistently been against american torture? is there one media outlet saying capitalism is at fault, or even has flaws? is there one that reports the positives achieved in cuba or venezuela?
