CrossTalk: The Euro's Odyssey
On this edition of Peter Lavelle's CrossTalk, he asks his guests whether Greece is being bailed out or is it the bankers.

according to the financial times 'it is overtly a rescue of Greece, but covertly a bail-out of banks'

I'd noticed the dog in a few clips earlier this week, but it's great to know he's always there, noising up the cops!

Is it a bailout of Greece? No!
Is it a bailout of Greece's people? Of course, not!
It is in fact a bailout of banks from Germany, France, Spain, etc., which have lent enormous amounts of money to the Greece government.
Money that really doesn't exist.

theres another one here https://rebeldog.tumblr.com/ which has this;

The legendary Kanellos passed away about 2 years ago. His name means ‘Cinnamon’. He lived a long and free life. He must have been around 17 when he died. He was always there to stand next to the students, the protesters and the people hanging around the central area of Athens, especially around Exarcheia. In his last12 years he moved into the Polytechneio premises, the Technical University of Athens which is in the Exarcheia area. He became a frequenter, more frequent than many students and started to hang around the corridors, the classes and students’ councils becoming more of a friend than a mascot. When the Dean of the Architecture department called the dog catcher the people rised. A petition and even a demostration was held, in demand of Kanellos release. Finally they let him go but he was already worned out by arthritis and old age and had trouble walking. The students gathered money and bought him a wheelchair for dogs. One student took him in so he could take care of him in his last days. Kanellos finally passed away on the 2nd of july of 2008 and returned again into Polytechneio where he was buried accompanied by many of his friends.

Rebel Dog is just one of the new generation of political strays. You can find strays attending demostrations in many cities of Greece, such as Thessaloniki. All the dogs would like to be like Kanellos, free happy and restless

Here are photos of the late Kanellos

and this https://www.thisblogrules.com/2010/03/do ... ears.html/ has;

I live in Athens, in exarxeia and this dog is very famous and everybody feeds and loves this animal.BUT his name is LOUK,from Loukanikos a word that means sausage,because he used to eat sausages all the time.He lives on the street,he has no master and he, allong with 4-5 other dogs comes to every demonstration here in ahens.You will find him every day in MESOLLOGIOU street,where ALEXANDROS GRIGOROPOULOS,a 15 year old student was shot by the police.

KANELLOS was another dog that used to act the same,but he died two years ago and now he is buried by comrades inside the Polytechneio university in Athens,where the uprising against dictatorship took place,in 1973.The members of Indymedia athens,used to feed him.Also when Kanellos was caught by the dog catcher 4 years ago,a demo of 400 people took place and we released him from the dog catcher!You can find his grave inside the university.Kanello RIP!

These dogs live in Exarxeia and they don’t belong to nobody.We call them”the dogs of the movement” and there many of them, such as ROZA,DICK,RIBO,PETROS,LOUCY.Its funny but they are our comrades,we protect and feed them and they protect us as well.

Here are some videos of comrade Kanellos,a legend of Exarcheia!

Typical partisan media make it difficult to find out exactly what these cuts are . I heard one mention of a minimum wage cut of 32% on one Radio Four broadcast but never heard it repeated and I missed the details : must have salved their BBC consciences this fleeting mention.
Anyway what the cuts to the minimum wage means to those over 25 years old is a weekly wage of £108.83
and for those more penalized under the age of 25 a weekly wage of £94.88
The weekly minimum wage of those 21 or older , for 40 hours , in the UK at present is £243.20
