I guess Weight Watchers figured as long as the lumpy bits were on the food, they wouldn't be on you! 
ok, just an update: I was on Weight Watchers in the 70s (I think the first time I joined was in '72 at the age of 10) and I remember having to eat liver every week. My mother and I both shoved it down with lots of ketchup, but I have to say it would have never gotten down with that chicken liver recipe!! Bleck....

Spurs, we got liver quite a bit as kids and I thought it was ok for years. Then I found out what it was.
My opinion on liver is that it's gross, and actually very unhealthy (cholesterol!!!) ---- if you know what it does in your body, you'd likely never eat it
