Paris liberation was for 'whites only'

I'm guessing this order was really given in order that black men weren't seen as being important by those watching the newsreels in America.

Seeing that kind of footage might have inspired the very kind of 'revolution' that happened only 20 years later.

A good film to watch about the plight of North African soldiers fighting for France in the Second World War is 'Days of Glory' 2006.

The epic journey these forgotten heroes embark upon shows us the injustices they faced in the time of war, the fearless courage they displayed in the face of brutal conflict and the discrimination they encountered from the nation they helped to defend.

cheers, I'll have a look for that. Did you see the film about the Algerian rebellion that I posted a while back?

I'm not sure? Was it The Battle of Algiers (1966)? I'd like to see that for sure. It's supposed to be based on events during the 1954-1962 Algerian War against French rule.

I think your theory 'black men weren't seen as being important by those watching the newsreels in America.' and 'Seeing that kind of footage might have inspired the very kind of 'revolution' that happened only 20 years later.', is quite an excellent one.
