Being Human (vampire ghost werewolf silliness)

Post by nekokate »

There's a new series just started on the BBC called Being Human. It's about a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf living together in a flat. When I read the description I thought "utter shite" but I've just watched the first episode and it is fucking brilliant.

Torrent it. Get it off iPlayer. Whatever. It's really fun! And it stars that black girl from Sugar Rush - possibly the best looking girl in the world.

I'm downloading it now - I heard the trailer earlier, so it's good to hear it's worth a look

Cool! Next week's episode will be really intersting. The vampires are planning a global coup, so it seems. And I think the girl ghost will have a role to play in stopping it, because so far she hasn't done anything other than make cups of tea and look stunning. Surely her character has an eventual reason!

I was thinking the same thing as well. She has to be there for more. One thing is for sure, I hope I die as well dressed as her!

Just a bump. Episode 4 tonight, and this is still excellent.

I'll wait until the series ends and then watch it one go. It does sound good though, and I've not seen a negative comment about it anywhere, which has to be some kind of record.

Yeah, I'm almost embarrassed to be bigging it up like this, because I normally hate and ridicule supernatural vampire/werewolf things, but this is... well, I can't really explain it. It's just fucking brilliant. One of the best shows on the BBC for years. The main thing is that it doesn't take itself seriously - which prompts the viewer to do so, on their own terms.

One thing I've noticed about it is the writers have removed the concept of an progressing episode timeline. You could watch the episodes in any order and it would make no difference. It's kind of like a sitcom in that sense - each episode has a "turmoil, struggle, resolution, return to status quo" ready for the next episode to be a totally fresh canvas.

Finally got to watch episode 4 and enjoyed it as usual. However, isn't there only supposed to be six episodes? Or are they planning to make more of a series out of this?

I've heard from a "source" that there will definitely be a second series, with 8 new episodes this time. Fuck yeah!!

George's girlfriend will also be a werewolf, because of the scratch he gave her when he was in the basement room with Herrick. :)

I figured there had to be more coming up. They left far to much open with the last episode for them not to continue.

I am wondering if Nina will be a full werewolf though. After all, he hadn't fully changed yet at the end. Could be interesting for sure.
