So although the action scenes were excellent and the performance of the Joker was quite sublime, I was very disappointed with the observations above. So do others think it was a Pro-G.W allegory??? Apparently the screenplay was done by a Brit which is odd...or is he just a fan of the neo-con hawks????
So is this reading too much into something? What do others think? Thought Batman (aka super-hero) was the guy you root for, not the guy you despise.
I've not actually watched the movie yet. I've got a blue ray rip that I've been saving until I've got the time to sit and watch it properly, but I'll keep an eye out. Phone-tapping has probably been about since telephones were first used though.
nah, i watched this a couple of days ago, and the only possible reference to anything bush or neo con like comes in the michael caine speech at about 52:20. i think it's quite a fair observation ...
I've got the movie in HiDef and music in flac... it's brilliant... the music tracks are better with movie itself as it contains DTS surround sound in 6 channels (unlike the CD or flac).
Sorry to give away any spoilers Face. You're a clever chap and will notice the observations I posted.
A google search will also bring up some well articulated blogs on the subject. Just type in dark knight, bush, propaganda etc.
Oh...and the phone tapping isn't quite phone tapping - but something more exaggerated!
Still undecided if this director wants to try to justify the last eight years of the Neo-Con policy or illustrate how this mentality will lead to the protagonist's downfall.
There's also been comparisons with the front cover and 9/11 imagery.
