What's wrong with a donner?

I'll buy the occasional donner every other month, but I much prefer a shish kebab as it is just lumps of pure meat rather than the mince. I didn't realise the donners had so much crap in them though!

I watched a whole thing on these on Gordan Ramsey's "the F word" and they actually turned out to be healthier than what I thought they would be. Still, I wouldn't eat one.
According to another show, the one city in the world that is doner kebab mad and has more shops then any other is Berlin.

i like a doner kebab :) like you faceless i don't eat them often ( i did have one last weekend ) but i've never thought they were anything but unhealthy! as long as you don't eat them all the time and you have a balanced diet the rest of the time i don't see any problem.

when i lived in watford the kebab shop round the corner used to do a beast of a kebab called the viking special ( named after the shop ), all the different meats cooked in all the different ways :)

Like anything unhealthy luke, having it occasionally won't kill you. I think that's a good way to look at it. I personally can't wait to have a chocolate malt when I got back to visit family in New Mexico. There is a restaurant there that makes the best ones. Having one after nearly two years shouldn't be an issue

I saw that show as well and I was surprised that they were healthier than I thought. I think I had one as a kid but not since then. There used to be a place in the foodcourt at the mall that sold them but it's been gone for ages. We called them Donnair here -- don't know why it's different.
