US Election special

Post by faceless »

I set my system to record the wrong channel last night so I didn't record the election special fro talkSPORT. Hopefully it will be available elsewhere - but the thought of editing out 5 hours worth of ads isn't exactly making my day brighter!

I listened to some of it and there was very little GG. He was on for bursts of about 5 minutes every quarter of an hour and the rest was reports from various journos in the USA and bloody loads of adverts.

yeah, the bits I did hear when flicking channels seemed to be quite short - still, that will mean the edit should work out well.

that's it available now - it's down to 2h42 from 7 hours. I'm just about to upload a high quality version of Obama's victory speech, so that should be available in 40 minutes or so

I really enjoyed the Talksport Election Special. From what I saw of the BBC programme with Dimbleby, it was bland & boring; but the very best bit was when they did the mistake of having Gore Vidal on, as he didn’t hold back on telling them that they were pissing in the wind;

The Vidal vid was funny, but I don't think it painted him in a very good light. He's more deliberately awkward than anything these days.

There's a fantastic interview with him by Melvyn Bragg that aired recently in which he's a lot more eloquent and witty instead of just being a git.

Was the one when he was on a Bragg programme about religion ?

Thanks for all the hard work faceless, your efforts are hugely appreciated!

I can't find the Obama speech link? Could you point me in the right direction?

It was a 60 minute interview about American politics and all that it involves.

This is my edit of the best bits:

Many thanks for taking the trouble Kate, as I enjoyed watching this. It's sad that Vidal, Chomsky, Benn & even Pilger, are all getting very old now & with no one really taking their places. Still we've have got a relatively very young GG !
