What a cute idea! Something that's great for kids and adults. Can't wait to see this recipe as it looks like loads of fun.

I love cooking with the girls ......Sometimes we have to do fast stuff as time is limited ....So i will give U the fast way and the normal way :D

lesson @1 when U have young kids who want cakes .......Make it fast :D We had already made Mini pizza this day ......So I was getting a bit frazzled...... the clock was approaching midnight ...... yes midnight.....and they were still wide awake watching reruns of supernanny and at home with Jamie oliver ..these gals are killing me ...... now they want a bbq ...ffs ... lol ps they love supernanny when the kids beat the parents ....... hmmmmmmm

Ingredients

1 (18 ounce) box favorite cake mix

3 large eggs

1/2 cup oil

1 cup water

24 flat bottom ice cream cones

1 (16 ounce) container frosting

candy sprinkle, for decorating

cake liners

Directions

Heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and oil. Use a hand mixer and mix until well combined, for about 3 minutes. Scrape the bowl down using a rubber spatula to make sure that the mix is well combined. and keep kids away from licking bowl.......

Line muffin trays with cake liners

fill each liner about 2/3

put ice cream cone on top

yes on top ...do not put mixture in cone .........

place in oven for about 15 mins

Take out let cool and Bobs ya uncle and decorate .......

So easy and so much fun .......

I made these years ago for a bake sale and they went over well.

Another thing that can be done is to wind tinfoil in long strips around the cones in the muffin trays to help stabilize them.

Mmmm...I'm on week 2 of my diet and these are looking so yummy. Saying that, if I wasn't on a diet I'd be making them super-quick. They look scrumptious.

Aja - as these cones are flat bottomed, rather than use foil, would it work if I put a flat tray on top of the cones to hold them in position?

Maycm,

I've actually made them the opposite and they've worked out really well. Set the cones right side up in your muffin tins then pour in your cake batter (they should be nice and rounded on top like a real ice cream cone once they bake). To stabilize them, you can twist some ropes of tinfoil around the cones then remove once they're done baking.
