Bill to make ad-breaks quieter

This is a great idea, but it just shows how bad things are when a law has to be passed before it will happen. Personally I find the voices of female weather presenters on the BBC to have some kind of loud resonance that I just can't stand and which makes me reach for the mute. It's a very peculiar problem, but it's definitely there!

Oh my God! This is absolutely true! Adverts are ALWAYS way louder volume than the show you're watching. I don't watch much TV, but I like to watch Deal or No Deal and I'm always being nearly blown off my bed when they call a break and suddenly some Toyota or BT Home Hub advert comes on like a fucking Harrier jump-jet landing on your TV. It's stupid - they definitely need to make them quieter for the sake of the advertisers, too, because more people would listen.

Me and my Dad are always discussing this when we watch TV...when watching UK Gold all the programs seem so quiet - so we have to turn them up, and as soon as the adverts come on, one of us always has to dive for the damn remote to turn it down. Then you have to turn it up again when the show you were watching comes back on.
