Danish train station

Post by pirtybirdy »

I had meant to take these pictures a long time ago to show how many bikes they have. I've seen another station in a bigger town that had like 10 times more bikes than this! I'm amazed! LOL! I also feel safe biking here in Denmark, the drivers(mostly) respect the bicyclists. At least it's been my experience so far.

I don't think many of those bikes are chained .. and I can't see any CCTVs -- which would also attest to the sense of security there.

that's impressive for sure! I think a lot more people would use them here if there weren't so many hills, but there's really no excuse in flatter areas - well, apart from people showing-off...

Alot of them have wheel locks. I'm sure bolt cutters can hack them off, but if someone really wants your bike, they can always find a way. They have a section in the back, the last two or three bike port/buildings that require a pin code. It's locked up. You pay the commune extra to park your bike in there. My hubby says it's best to have a good bike, and a crap bike. Makes good sense. I know people that used to drive their crap cars into NYC, and their good cars around their local suburbs...LOL! Same kind of theme..

Thanks Pirty. Reminds me of an advert running in the UK about celebs in LA having 2 cars : one to show the visitors, and (a Renault I think) for their day to day use.

I'll have to repost them. I moved them to an album. I think that's why. I'll fix it now. :-)

That is amazing pirty! It's nice to know you can do that some places. I would love to be able to for sure.
