All I had to do is see Jimmy Carter and that was it for me....I'll stay well away for now...LOL!! On a serious note, it sure would be nice to get an effecient, cost effective alternative fuel source that was available worldwide at various service stations. I just question that if it's so easy, then why isn't anyone else doing it? Quite frankly this is the first I've seen that water can be used. Is it the case that it's just not catching on? Not getting enough mainstream media attention?

i think i've heard of this before, but not being a car driver i didn't really pay much attention

maybe because the big corporations wouldn't make as much profit as they do now, i can't see the oil companies being too happy with people filling up with water, and those kinda companies are massively influential and powerful.

one reason it might not be the solution it might seem is theres water shortages already around the world, there will be wars over water, its probably not the best idea to take such a resource so people can drive around in their cars

I'd say the reason no one else is doing it is because the oil companies tend to come down pretty heavy on any attempt to change their money-spinner. There was a Japanese guy who invented a ceramic car engine that would have revolutionised things about 20 years ago, but the oil companies just bought him out in order to keep it out of the public domain.

This method with water is called 'electrolysis' as far as I know - you basically separate the oxygen and hydrogen molecules using electricity. I didn't realise you could set up your own system from easily acquired items though...

It says a quart can last you months. I'd like more information on how exactly it all works. It sounds as if it's in use in combination with gas, so it's almost used to give the gas a little bang for your buck. Things like what does this gadget connect to in your car, where do you put the water....etc.

I am sure besides the ideas you guys mentioned, there must have been plenty more in recent years, but probabely their inventors were silenced by either the oil companies or oil producers themselves.

Anyway I wish they find an alternative to oil soon and maybe we'll have less wars.

If it sounds too good to be true - then it usually is.

No doubt you can run a car on hydrogen, but there's no easy method of storage, and any system that relies on electrolysis will generate at too slow a rate to be useful, and requires more power than it generates - basic physics - you don't get something for nothing.

You're probably be better off using the power source (batteries) to run the car instead.
