thatcher in hospital

Post by Brown Sauce »

Baroness Thatcher remained in a stable condition overnight in St Thomas' Hospital, in central London, the hospital said.

The 82-year-old former Prime Minister was admitted to the hospital on Friday night and was said to be undergoing medical checks.

On Saturday morning a spokeswoman for the hospital said: "Baroness Thatcher has remained stable overnight and we have nothing further to add at this stage."

It was reported Lady Thatcher was taken to hospital by car.

Two red Metropolitan Police cars were parked just outside the main entrance of St Thomas' Hospital in Lambeth Palace Road on Saturday morning.

It was not clear whether this or any other extra security was in place for Lady Thatcher.

Lady Thatcher very rarely speaks in public, following advice from her doctors, but she does still sometimes say a few words at private functions.

Friends say she is lucid most of the time but occasionally drifts off in the middle of conversations because of difficulties with her short-term memory.
I was going to embed the article, but unfortunately it includes a photo.

Is she Lady or Barroness? The article refers to her as both. Can they be used interchangably? I know she wasn't very popular, but it is a shame to see her sick.

no offence Spursfan, but if you'd noticed how it was impossible to move in my local pub on a tuesday night when she came to power in '79, and that you could hear a pin drop on a saturday night 10 years later, you'll realise why i'll never see her as anything but sick.

me too. UB40 sang some line that said something like

"if she comes again I'm leaving, I'll pack my bags and go..."

well they didn't, but we, along with many more, did. Which of course only compounds the loss :)

As an outsider, I guess I will just take the stance that she is still human and will be missed by her family, although I have to admit if it were Bush, I would certainly be singing a different tune.

I saw on the news the headline "Thatcher leaves hospital". Disappointingly she wasn't feet first!

she was never human, and as for the family, gin did for dennis what maggie couldn't, her son " wanna buy a ferrari", should be in some African jail for suppling weapons to a wannabe dictator. He should have at least waited 'till he really got some political power like his good ol' mum did.

and then there's carol

whatever tag she was given by her peers, be it lady or baroness or whatever, they at least didn't make the mistake of it being hereditary ...

During yesterday's talkSPORT show, when mentioning the news she was in hospital, GG quipped something like, "we know it's not her heart."
