I doubt she could care less about getting work in Hollywood, so why not say what she thinks? Good on her.

Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard has been forced to make an embarrassing U-turn after suggesting 9/11 was a hoax. The 32-year-old French actress became the toast of Tinseltown after winning an Academy Award for her portrayal of tortured chanteuse Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose.
The award plucked Cotillard from relative obscurity and booked her a place on the A-list. But an interview given to a French magazine more than a year ago has threatened her prospects in the US. Cotillard was quoted as saying she doubted whether the attack on the World Trade Centre was genuine, saying: "I think we are lied to about a number of things." She even went on to doubt whether the US really did put a man on the moon in 1969.
But faced with losing out on a career in the notoriously patriotic Hollywood film industry, the actress has claimed her comments were misunderstood and taken out of context. Her Paris-based lawyer Vincent Tolesano said: "Marion never intended to contest nor question the attacks of September 11, 2001, and regrets the way old remarks have been taken out of context."
The actress will be hoping the revelations do not damage her image ahead of the release of her new movie Public Enemies, in which she stars alongside Johnny Depp.

The fact her publisher has said this now puts her right down in my estimation. If she's not got the balls to stand by what she believes any more then bollocks to her.
I found out last year that John Wayne was a complete right-wing nut, but that will not affect my enjoyment of his movies - the same goes for that gun-toting maniac whose personal politics are utterly repugnant, Charlton Heston.

I have no idea what kind of acting ability she has and quite honestly I don't care. I don't usually react like this, normally, I don't care what an actors politics are, but for some reason, this woman really irked me. It's like the people who question if the holocost happened. They can believe what they want and say what they want, but I don't have to see their films or be part of whatever they do. So, Luke, in answer to your question, yes it is because of what she said. I had never even heard of her before that!!luke wrote:why do you say never, because of her comments on 9/11, or you don't rate her acting?SpursFan1902 wrote:I am glad that she has no anglo film ambitions. At least I won't be bombarded with trailers for her films that I will never go see....

I saw the film and with her performance you will have no trouble there. I could give a rats ass about her political views or conspiracy theories. She's a brilliant actress and the movie was amazing.SpursFan1902 wrote:Crap, I didn't realize that was who she was. I guess I AM going to see the movie, but I just won't think about her. I will just see her as The Sparrow....
