Vista Humour

Not as good as the Mac vs. PC Vista Security commercial imho, but not bad.

I haven't had the "pleasure" yet. Hell, I didn't move to XP until after X-mas '06. Using it at work helped win me over (especially that I can turn off all the glitz and run it bare bones so it looks like 2000).

vista is one big memory hog. Apart from a good outlook it has nothing so special to offer. But that also comes with a price. You'll need at least 1GB of memory and the OS takes a huge amount of space. One can easily do all the fency stuffs (encoding, video editing, etc) in a Winxp machine. Check the thread of doom for some really good points against vista https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t ... ight=Vista

I like XP just fine and have no plans to move to Vista..... was actually thinking of going to a Mac next time around.

Thanks for the link, Bat, I'm looking forward to checking it out.

If I was to migrate from Windows altogether, I'd go to linux. It seems to run much faster than Windows if you can get over the necessary tweaking.

I'm sticking with XP - I reckon the final release that is stable will become one of the most copied discs ever.

It is on the new(ish) Dell laptop that I bought. I haven't had anywhere near the problems that others have and it does what I need it to, so no complaints yet, except for the approval boxes that pop up all the time.

Yep, exactly like that, although, if I bought a Mac, I doubt it would be that cute!
