Yes I know its early .....
... but before we know it Holiday times will be here.....I have lots of different things I make over the Holidays ....some very British.... some very Jamaican and some Twists on food I have eaten here over the Holidays in various parts of America....For instance My green bean casserole is to die for

When we lived in Dallas my neighbors, the Wildes, would invite us for Thanksgiving dinner. Shirley is a great cook and there was always a lot of food and a lot of guests. She always served a blueberry salad and it is perfect to serve with a heavy meal like Thanksgiving. Not an exotic recipe like Aja's, but very well received so here goes:
Shirley Wilde's Blueberry Salad
Dissolve a 6 oz. package of Black Cherry jello in 2 cups boiling water.
Add 1 cup water, 1 cup crushed pineapple and a 14 oz can of drained blueberries.
Chill until set and cover with topping as follows:
Two 3 oz. packages cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 t. vanilla
1/2 cup sugar
Combine and beat till smooth. Pour onto set gelatin mixture.
Top with 1/2 cup chopped nuts if desired.
To serve, cut into squares and serve on a large lettuce leaf on a salad plate. I use either a rectangular glass dish or disposable aluminum pan. Serves 12.

all the stuff in this Recipe is from Trader Joes ..... But U can get other brands ....
Green bean Casserole
1 bag TJ's frozen green beans
2 boxes TJ's frozen spinach/artichoke dip
1 can TJ's fried onion pieces
1/2 cup milk or heavy cream
prepare green beans according to package instructions (drain any excess water )
prepare the dip according to Instructions
mix both packets with the cream to thin out a bit
stir in Green beans and half the onion pieces
spread mix in to a casserole dish ...sprayed with pan spray
top with onion pieces
bake at 350 degrees for about 25 Min's

This one is a must around our house...
Magic Cookie Bars
8 graham crackers (or the equivelent in graham cracker crumbs)
1 stick butter
1 bag choc chips
1 bag butterscotch/peanut butter/or any other flavor you may wish chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
shredded coconut to taste
Pre heat oven to 350 - put a 9 x 12 pan in oven while it is preheating with the stick of butter so it melts
Crush the graham crackers until they are crumbs
Take the pan out of the oven with the melted butter; add crumbs and pat down with fork until they are all moist and flattened out
Layer choc chips and flavored chips (I usually use butterscotch) and add shredded coconut. I usually don't use too much coconut as I don't like it, but you have to have it to hold everything together, so use your judgment. Lastly, add the entire can of sweetened condensed milk. Pour it evenly over the whole mess.
Bake at 350 for 35 - 45 mins or until bubbly. Ok, now this is the hard part ~ LET THEM COOL and then cut into squares...size is up to you!
Don't broil them - I did this once and it is interesting to see black smoke coming out of a dessert, especially when you cut into it and the inside is raw!!

Can I just add, Spurs, that when you make this, it really helps to firmly press the ingredients down onto the base otherwise they "slide" right off. Plus, I have to reinforce your LET THEM COOL statement... same thing, all the stuff will slide off if you don't.
PS--- these taste wicked right from the freezer too!
