Hawaii

I just came across this page - the history of Hawaii isn't something I'd considered before, but it makes for some interesting reading. Reading early in that the King's palace had electricity before the White House is quite a surprise.

My own history is tied up in Hawaii, but that's something else ;)

Hawaii has a fascinating history. I know girldork knows a lot about it and loves it there.

I'll check out that link sometime face, thanks.

And if that picture isn't enough to make someone want to visit there, I don't know what is?

Not that I doubt Hawaii is beautiful, but the colours in that image look too vibrant to be real.

I'll be doing some reading too. I'm puzzled how Hawaii became part of the U.S.

The Hawaiian natives weren't allowed to vote. Only the US citizens living there were allowed to. So of course, the vote went through.

Not sure about that picture, but my parents have been and the colours in their photos are just as vibrant.
