Terrfying death race at 186mph
By ANDREW PARKER
September 04, 2007

A TERRIFYING DVD of a car and a motorcycle racing along country roads at 186mph is being studied by cops. The bootleg film — reminiscent of the cult movie Death Race 2000 — even shows the biker pulling a wheelie at 130MPH.

In other hair-raising scenes:
# The Suzuki GSXR 1000 narrowly MISSES an oncoming car at a combined speed of 170mph;
# The racers roar past a COP BIKER going the other way;
# A speed camera is set ABLAZE.

The footage, shot from cameras mounted on the bike and the Mitsubishi Evo 320 rally car, is partly filmed on the A423 Banbury to Southam road in Warwickshire. The professionally produced DVD — called Stu-Pid Riding — boasts that the stretch is rated one of the most perilous for motorcyclists in the UK. It opens with the rider giving a thumbs-up by an A423 sign, before taking viewers on a white-knuckle 12.3-mile ride lasting just five minutes and 20 seconds.

Footage of the entire 1hr 20min film has been taken on other roads — including the M45. At one stage an unmarked police car gives chase with flashing headlights but cops suspect this segment is doctored. Police believe they know the culprits — but have been warned by the Crown Prosecution Service that much of the evidence would be inadmissible in court.

Insp. John Timms said: “Riders with egos greater than their skills could try to copy these exploits — with tragic consequences.”

This was in The Sun today, though on checking the DVD has been available since May... they didn't include the trailer in their report.

If they want to put their own lives in danger, I don't care...it is when they put other people in danger that it makes me mad.

I just got the full DVD downloaded and it's a bit crap to be honest - seeing them overtaking on blind summits just makes me want to give them a slap
