Pilots die in mid-air crash

This is the moment of disaster at an airshow in Poland after two planes collided.Two pilots were killed performing aerial acrobatics in front of thousands of spectators. A Reuters photographer at the scene said the collision occurred after a three-plane formation fanned out and two of the aircraft slammed into each other as they attempted to re-converge.

The stricken planes plummeted towards a wooded area at the edge of the airfield near the south-central town of Radom. There were no reports of injuries among those on the ground.

Tragic. They've banned the yearly airshow here (well, at least the actual flying demonstrations) since a lot of these types of tragedies have been happening. The Snowbirds are our big aerobact flying team and there have been some horrible accidents with them.
