They may have distorted what was said, but it didn't take much distorting. Those preachers were a disgrace and an insult to Islam.

I'm glad this is being exposed though, because that documentary will certainly have pandered to the racist opinions of some of the Little Englander viewers. Any programmes like this can only do damage. Even if you claim to be merely reporting on an "extremist minority" it's very easy to start tarring vast numbers of decent people with the same brush if you've only got a passing knowledge of the real situation.

I watched this documentary when it aired and it annoyed me in the same way that newspapers like the Daily Mail annoy me - it's about the presentation of a distorted view, and while some people who know better will just scoff at it and shake their heads, so many more will start to take it onboard.
