Good Anti Virus...

Post by 6ULDV8 »

I noticed that a few of you are having Virus problems (or appear to be).

Over the years I have tried many anti-virri programs, to date the one I have uploaded for you seems to be the best.
It's not a system resource hog like norton, it certainly catches items that AVG etc fail to find & also does a smart protection install (stops smart virri from corrupting install, in other words if you have a virus already, it can't tell this program to ignore it...)
:)

It's the full version of Kaspersky, included is a folder with two files that allow activation, one for 2 years the other for 3 years worth of updates.

Install the program, when you are prompted to activate, use the "From file" (I forget the correct term used by the program) & navigate to the folder containing the other two files...
(I have used the kps-3y file on about 8 machines recently without a problem)

You will need to then update the files & do a complete PC scan...
After that all is sweet.

As far as scanning etc...
You can set up time / day for regular updates & also complete scans...
I myself tend to set it up for intervals in the early hours of sunday mornings, like update at 2am, scan whole system at 3am etc...

It will also do a boot / start scan whenever you turn your PC on.

If it wasn't good I'd not post it here for you. :)

@those who've used both Kaspersky and McAfee: which one do you think works faster and is less resource hungry? Can you please give us an overview? I'm using McAfee now.

As I said above, this is not a resource hungry app like most others...

I certainly feel it to be quicker, better & less of a hog than McAff' etc...

I'm using it now. thank you very much, Dr. Who :D

Am I safe to use with windows default firewall or should I get another one. If not so safe, can you please suggest any?

I have it running default & it catches anything thrown at this machine... (firewall wise also).
