I'm quite looking forward to it myself - there was just a story on the news about a planeload of 150 fans with tickets who are stuck at the airport because the plane broke down... that would be a killer!

Yes I was listening to that this morning on 5 Live. Brutal!!

Half - time and the better team is losing. We should have been two up and instead, a silly foul, and a deflected (hand ball?) goal.

Gutted.

Trust Rafa to work his magic though. Kewell on for Zenden and likely Crouch to make an appearance if nothing happens quickly too.

Being new, I probably shouldn't post this, but I was pulling for AC Milan. I got to watch them play in the San Siro in a derby match against Inter in 2002 and it was probably the most exciting and frightning night of my life!! I really like Gattuso. So tough on the pitch and so mild mannered off. I haven't watched the game yet (TiVo'd) and I can't wait to watch it.

I've always hated Gattuso since he used to play for Rangers here in Glasgow - so you're off to a bad start! haha, just kidding

Sorry Mr. Faceless, Sir. Open mounth, insert foot! I don't really know that much about Scottish football (I guess that was a bad thing to admit to as well!), but always willing to learn! I think the other Gattuso attraction is purely a girly one...he's kinda cute! I hate when that creeps into my sports talk, but there it is.

Do you mean the Scots, in the form of Celtic fans, who today celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first team from the 'British Isles' to win the European Cup? In the same year as their national team defeated the world champions (England) by some ungodly amount?

Ok, so it's 40 feckin years ago - but it still beats a lot!

As IRiSH would no doubt say "Jaysus!!" that's ancient history isn't it?

While we're talking of history... Football trivia:

When was the last time Pele, Moore and Best all played in the same game?

ancient history? That's how we feel when we hear in every bloody England game in the world-cup, "Could this be 1966 all over again?" - No it couldn't is the answer!

You can bet if it was an english team that first won the European Cup that there would be all sorts of historical bollocks on the telly today - but with it being the Scottish team I doubt they'll even mention it!

I agree with you faceless! The whole 1966 thing gets rolled out at every bloody big tournament - so good on you! I think what Celtic achieved with all the local lads will never be done again!
