RIGHT TOOL, WRONG JOB: William T. McGuire of Woodbridge, N.J., was
murdered, his dismembered body found stuffed into three suitcases
fished out of the Chesapeake Bay. Investigators focused on his wife,
Melanie, 34, a nurse. Her computer was impounded, and her search
history found that in the days before the murder Melanie had searched
Google and other search engines for terms including "how to commit
murder", "instant poisons" and "undetectable poisons". She also
researched gun laws. Ten days later, William was shot to death after
being incapacitated by a sedative. The drug was purchased at a
Walgreen's store; the computer had recorded a visit to the Walgreen's
web site's store locator. Melanie has been convicted of murder, and
faces at least 30 years in prison. (Parsippany Daily Record)

Thats what happens when you Google "how to commit murder" instead of "how
to get away with murder".

The search records are mostly stored by the search engine provider (e.g. Google, Yahoo or AOL) .. and your ISP.

Best go to the library then to find these things.....lol!! Also, I bet it requires a person to sit and think it out for awhile. What can go wrong, will go wrong, etc. I suppose this theory goes for any evil doing one plans, not just murders....lol

I have it on good authority that to "get away with" a crime one must follow 3 rules:
1) Act alone.
2) Tell no one.
3) Flee jurisdiction.

Or go the opposite extreme .. involve/incriminate so many people in the crime, no-one would dare blow the whistle, and if they did, others won't believe them that so many people could possibly get involved in such a "conspiracy".

There are way too many TV shows nowdays that almost act as handbooks or 'how to' commit various crimes.

Everything you ever wanted to know about murder, robbing banks, kidnapping & rape...
I was only scanning TV chns yesterday as I was eating lunch (taking a break fro garden work) & there were at least 9 dif' shows on TV at the same time, each showing how the crime was committed, how the person messed up & was caught.

No offence to the ladies, but these shows do get seen more & more by women during the day.
There was a case not so long ago, a woman handed herself in 18 months after she had killed her husband, had she not handed herself in she would never had been talked to again about the case as police were convinced it had nothing to do with her.
Her remorse & living with the knowledge of what she did made her turn herself in...

During her confession she told the police that she followed the instructions from two of her fav' daytime crime shows (non-fiction) & knew how to cover her tracks.

This is not the first of this type of case....

I'm sure there are some desperate men who watch these shows too...

It amazes me that during daytime on TV they can't depict crimes of violence etc on 'over the air' shows if it is fictional, yet they can show real cases in all their gorey details.

My wife is hooked on these types of shows too, well, not hooked, but she'd rather watch a true crime show or something like CSI rather than the general crap on TV.

Ohhhh, now I'm putting 2 & 2 together & getting 7.... I wondered why I was loosing my hair... could it be poisoning LOL.
