Icon Changer

Post by IRiSHMaFIA »

Does your desktop look plain and boring? Icon Changer is a software application that makes changing icons fun and easy. It's a hassle-free way
to personalize your desktop without having to open up any computer manuals. Simply click the icon you want to change, point at the one you like and that's all.

Change icons to make navigation easier, to group similar applications together, or merely to customize and spice up your desktop.

But it's not all for fun and games.

Have you ever worked with Word or Excel files? Then you know that all the
documents created with these (and other) applications "inherit" the icon from the program from which they were created. But what if you have some Word documents for a school project, some for business and some for legal correspondence? Would it not be great to label all of these files differently, so you know what each document is for, instead of trying to guess from the name or folder location, or worse yet, reading it. This same method can be used to distinguish folders.

Where are you going to get all these icons from? Don't worry! Icon Changer automatically scans for all icons available on your hard-drive and extracts them even from executables and DLL files. Cursor and bitmap files are supported as well.

You'll be surprised by how many amazingly cool icons you already have on your computer hard-drive and didn't even know about. The program can be activated in a variety of ways, including via contextual menu. The interface of this application is Explorer-like, making it easy to navigate and use.

Other advantages of Icon Changer include file type filtering options, recursive directory search, easy access to favorite icons, and automatic resolution adaptation.

(I didn't write that shite as it sounds like a mad sales pitch but it describes the program which is quite nice)

If you're interested you can download the program right here, and if you find you don't have a nice enough collection of computer icons let me know. I've loads of the best you can get and some I've made myself that I'm pretty proud of :wink2:
