Backing up your entire system

Post by IRiSHMaFIA »

There's a program called Acronis True Image that allows you to make an exact copy of your hard drive.

When your computer is in perfect running order you make a duplicate and burn it to a disc. If anything goes wrong it allows you to install the entire machine back exactly the way it was with absolutely nothing lost, providing you keep your back up copies current.

It saves a lot of headaches and only takes a short while to back up and well worth it. You could use a rewritable cd or dvd and keep copying over it to keep the back up current.

I've a copy of the program and if anyone is interested I'll post it up. It's very straight forward and dead easy to do.

As long as it's not too hard to do, I'd be interested. After having my computer die last year, I can see the value in keeping a copy of the hard drive.

Oki dokes. I'll get it up today.

Eefan it's not difficult to do at all. It's fairly straight forward, and if you find you've any problems I'll post a tutorial a friend of mine made :) It's just a wee video of him doing his.
