download speed

Post by carmelina »

For some reason I've been getting a really low download speed lately, downloading EE from the sendspace site. It used to be a lot faster, now it's down to 4 KB/sec, and one file downloads up to 7 hrs. What's up with that, or is the problem with my connection? Anyone else having problems with the speed?

It could be your ISP has started to use 'Traffic Shaping'

Try downloading from windows update... if your speeds are good there but torrents only suck, your being traffic shaped.

I just tried one of the files and was getting around 60k/s - I know that with the free service you can go slower though if there's a lot of people downloading. If you can pay for their premium service you should get 500k/s+ though

it seems to be fine now with last night's EE, I'm getting my usual download speed. Maybe there was a problem with the site.

Indeed...

grabbed 2 files at a very nice rate... between 2.5 & 1.3MB a second, whilst most from there max out at 50k.
