Cheesy TV goes live in New Year

Cheese makers in Somerset have set up a webcam on a truckle of Cheddar so that people can log on to watch their product maturing over a year. The round-the-clock camera - which can be downloaded as a screensaver - is due to go live from 1 January 2007. West Country Farmhouse Cheddar carries the Protected Designation of Origin status ranking it alongside Champagne, Parma Ham and Cognac.

"It's better than watching paint dry - just," said chairman Philip Crawford. "As you can see we really do take our cheese-making seriously. We nurture our cows so they produce lovely milk which in turn creates exquisite cheese. Some might say this is the most boring website of 2007, but our cheese is worth waiting for," said Mr Crawford.

I really wish you'd try and be more mature about stuff like this.

Topics of this nature have grated on my nerves in the past, but going along with the Crowdie seems to make it a bit fun

Not a chance! This thread has made me quite the laughing cow, and I'm not about to be cubed as a way of shutting me up!

You know, all this talk of cheese reminds me of a story about a girl I went out with many years ago...

She was a dedicated long-distance runner (and quite famous too) and while we had a great time for a while it soon got to the point where we both knew we didn't have much in common, so we decided that we should try to get an interest in something the other was into, so she suggested a book on African history for me and I suggested a book on Greek mythology for her...

We both had our heads in the books for a while, until she looked up and said "Hey, look at this brilliant picture of the Minotaur!!", so I looked over, delighted she'd got into it, but had to tell her "No that's actually the Gorgon, Zola"

:crazed:
