I bought a rice maker about a month ago. I always screw up the rice - either too mushy, sticky or not cooked. This allows me to make good rice, every time and make enough to use for the week...stir fry, side dishes and such. Well worth the $30.

face, if you're still looking for a rice cooker, aldi are doing them from thursday for £12.99. i don't know how much rice cookers are elsewhere, but aldi are usually good on price
