Oh, I thought that was going to be a spoof of the Harry Potter films.

I've never seen any (or read any of the books). Am I missing out??

Some of the books are very good, others have intensely boring sections. I enjoyed the experience of reading them with my son.

As for the thread title, we've always called him "Harold" Potter. Just our sense of humour I suppose.

I loved the books Twirls. I read most of them in 24 hours, even the longer ones. The films are okay, they don't hold a candle to the books but the acting has been wonderful. I do highly recommend the books and I think if you enjoy that kind of literature you are missing out. It's for all ages.

Okay - I guess I'll be looking out for them. Anyone know the reading order of the books?

I'm not sure of the order, but you can get pdfs of the books from here, along with a load of other stuff.

Each book should have the year on the side 1-7 but the order is
Philosopher's Stone (Sorcerer's Stone)
Chamber of Secrets
Prisoner of Azkaban (my favorite)
Goblet of Fire
Order of the Phoenix
Half Blood Prince
Deathly Hallows

I, too, loved them, both books and movies. Well worth the time invested to read them. The last book got a little slow, but overall, I thought it a really good series.

I agree Spurs. I liked the last book but I felt it was a bit slow. I think part of that was her wanting to make sure everything was covered and partially knowing it was saying good bye to Harry and many other characters.
