Saucy Coffin Adverts

Despite appearances, what you see here is not your basic softcore goth porn (well, at least not intentionally.) It is, in fact, a promotional sales item. Not for the lingerie, not for the shoes... for the coffin! The Italian undertaker firm Cofanifunebri has released their 2008 corporate calendar, featuring sexy models draped across their merchandise.
"Coffins are consumer goods like any other things, so I sell in the same way as any other consumer goods are sold," said owner Maurizio Matteucci. "The calendar is very popular."
"It is good marketing, but it is also a way to play down such a serious subject and to smile."
What next eh?

Rather tasty advertising...
It's rather odd but coffins are kinda' part of the reason my wife & I are together.
I used to have one at my home as a coffee table & one in the bar (soho London) which had a glass top for customer to use in a back room...
She too had one in her home as a coffee table.
We have often looked into the idea of splashing out on a nice 'High End' coffin as a bit of furniture, even if only as part of my home office (whenever I get around to finishing that room off).
Coffins are quite often a thing of beauty & detailed fine craftmanship... alas IMHO most people overlook all the beauty due to the coffins general purpose / use.
Cheers for this Griffo.

Wow, that's pretty crazy, using them as house furniture!
But i agree, some of them are very nice looking in a weird sort of way

They can be brilliantly made, which always makes me wonder why it is that people just stick them in the ground. I'll have a cardboard box for my funeral - and the money saved should be spent on a weekender wake!

It may sound weird, but my request is to be rested above ground & standing up...
There are a few reasons for this & arrangments have been made...
There ya' go, typo made better... but I do like the sound of reted too

You can't just leave it at that cliff-hanger!
I just looked up the word "retted", and it means:
"To moisten or soak in order to soften and separate the fibers by partial rotting."
I have to know why you would want that! It's too intriguing!

Ohhh my gosh... ROTFLMAO...
That was my infamos typing error / spooling mistook...
It should have read as "RESTED" as in final resting place...
Egg on my face for the typo....

haha, I had been wondering about 'reted' too - so it's pretty funny it had a relative meaning!

Indeed it does m8...
I was typing with my let hand only this morning (Still in a lot of pain with the right) & had a few other things on the go... so checking my post was not on my mind...
Back on topic tho'... well sorta'...
My wife bought me a Darts case a good few years ago to keep my 'arrows' in..
Yup.. it's in the shape of a coffin...
Come to think of it, we have a somewhat morbid collection of coffin & such (Skull / bone etc) bits & bobs about the house...

What a great idea! I wonder if it'll catch on over here. I like the nature one with the poppy on it.
