buggering Virgin

For the past while I've been uploading at a good rate because I was using the various proxy servers that Virgin took over when they bought NTL, but they've now shut them off. this means that my upload speed is back down to 55k/s on transfers via sendspace etc (torrents are fine still), so any shows that I do will now be back to taking about 40-50 minutes to upload.

This is bloody annoying as I'm paying £35 a month for a service that's no better than a lot of other companies offer for less than half that. I'll have to see about getting a new service as getting slowed down again is a real drag...

Yeah, "traffic management". Instead of upgrading their hardware to handle the new 20meg service they just throttle us

Interesting to see if virgin/ntl confirm what the upload speed should be for your "top-level" service. It used to be around 720 Kbps

Wonder what the published upload speed is on their mid-level service is now.
It may be worth switching to the mid-level if the upload speed is the same.

Current Services:

Those are the current services they provide according to their website. Notice how they have added in "up to" now?

Also, i swear they did an 8 meg service before?

I know someone on the 'L' package and they can hit around 55kB/s on torrents etc.
