I don't know if it's true, and I've never actually seen a lantern battery in the UK, but it seems feasible. If you think about it, the only reason packs of AA batteries are ridiculously expensive is because they are mostly branded (Duracel, etc.) and you're buying them in small amounts, plus the fact that everyone needs batteries, so why wouldn't a big company sell them in small packs at an enormous price and make a killing? It's not like consumers are going to ever go "batteries are too expensive, I just wont ever use remotes, personal stereos, shavers, digital cameras and stuff ever again."

That's cool. However, I just have all rechargeable batteries. Saves a lot of hassle and waste!

Good luck! I hope it's real, cos it's gonna save me a lot of money, too, if it is!

You just start a routine really. We have the charger in the same place we would keep the batteries. We have one set of four double AA's always ready to go. When one dies we get the fresh set and recharge the dead. Has worked a charm.

FYI, this is fake.

I Googled: ' battery lantern open AA 32 ' and found seevral posts on the subject.

I was wondering as the way the batteries fell out of the inside of the big cell suggested that they weren't even connected to each other, and only 4 would need to be connected to make the 6v it says on the outside.

Humbug (and other turn of the century expletives!)
