Excellent! I love Jib Jab

My missus (who used to be a radio journalist in a former life) tells me the definition of news is as follows:

News is information that someone, somewhere wants to be kept secret.
Everything else is advertising.

Nice find, Skylace. I wonder how they got the jiggling boobs to look so real/fake...

I love this clip! I think it does sum up the news in the US quite nicely. I couldn't believe my eyes when I watched the news for the first time here - rather than report about things that are real news I was able to see 'news' on lost dogs, cats stuck on trees and celebrity gossip. I have decided to not tune into Fox or NBC news and am instead watching BBC World now - soooo much more informative! :D

My husband was always amazed when I told him I never really watched the news in the States that instead I got it from papers etc. and that was it. When he came over the first time it took him just a day to figure out why!

I almost never watch it anymore. I get it all on a collection of websites which I check 1st thing in the morning, when I get home from work and last thing before bed.

The news in Canada isn't much better. It's full of those "isn't life interesting?" pablum they concoct and squirrel away for use between the 6-8 minutes of actual news and sports highlights (about which I couldn't really care less). Out of an hour, there might be about 10% "news", and that's making allowances for the dubious to horrible quality of the coverage.
