RANT ... Mourinho lets rip at ref Riley


JOSE MOURINHO branded referee Mike Riley a ‘son of a whore’.

He was furious with Riley’s handling of the 3-3 FA Cup quarter-final thriller with Spurs.

But Chelsea’s boss claimed the Portuguese phrase ‘filho da puto’ was common and not an insult.

Mourinho, who confronted the official in the tunnel at half-time and screamed at him from the touchline in the second half, said: “What I said to him I say to myself, my players and even to the ball when it hits the post.

“For me, it is a normal thing to say in Portuguese. I would say it 50 times during a game. I approached the ref in the tunnel but in a polite way.

"I thought he gave too many decisions to Tottenham at free-kicks, though I am not saying he got a big decision wrong.”

It is not Mourinho’s first brush this season with Riley, who refereed the clash with Reading when Petr Cech suffered his fractured skull.

Chelsea recovered from 3-1 down and Mourinho added: “At half-time we were out. We made mistakes which gave goals away.”

Mourinho insists there is no panic over John Terry’s new contract.

Negotiations between the club and the Blues’ skipper, 26, have broken down after an offer of a five-year deal with a four-year option was withdrawn.

Mourinho said: “John is contracted to Chelsea until 2009. Something happened and they are still talking.

“If it takes another month or two to get that fixed, then there is no drama.”

Chelsea balked when Terry asked for pay parity with the likes of Michael Ballack and Andriy Shevchenko, who earn around £120,000 a week.

Someone needs to knock that scumbags teeth out. I don't care what language you say it in, that's a bloody insult and the ignorant bastard shouldn't get away with it.

Other than the obvious, this is just another reason I want to see Chelsea fall apart. I'd love to see Liverpool in 2nd place but unfortunately they're 10 pts behind the arses.

I'm not his Jose's biggest fan but that Mike Riley is a joke. Like a few of the refs in the prem he tries to make a name for himself by being controversial.

I'm not saying Mourinho was right but you have to understand this is a 2 way thing. All you see is the headlines of the arrogance from Jose. You NEVER hear of the arrogance from these refs. Mike Riley is one of the refs that shows no respect towards other players, yet it is expected that all players MUST respect him.

He isn't fit to referee lower league games never mind the bigger games.
