Celtic are playing in their biggest European game for many years tonight against AC Milan and I reckon it's gonna be a gut-wrencher either way. AC aren't doing well in the Italian league just now, but with these games being one-offs you can't really go by that.

Noives aplenty!

Just back from the game. Thought we got lucky tonight. Both teams had few chances but it seemed like Milan were strolling it at times. So comfortable on the ball when we were struggling to get any run of passing together.

Good thing is we are still level and didn't lose an away goal. We can also play far better than we did tonight.

Bad thing is...............well all of our previous away trips in the Champions League. I was in Lisbon for the Benfica game and that was soul destroying watching that. I hope Celtic can give the performance we deserve. I'm positive they can.

Hail Hail

ps: what the hell went on in the Man Utd game. Seems like it all went crazy over there. Highlights tonight should be good viewing.

Yeah well i'm not one to come on and say we should have done this and that. We didn't play well. Milan could've played better. They have better players playing at a higher level and not enough of our players showed the hunger that they should've had on a stage like this.

Its not over yet though

I must have been posting at the same time - I meant that at Irish, with her BRAYING about Man U...

that's cool you were at the game though, I've not been in too many years.

As I told you in chat, Lille aren't great but there are no bad teams in the last 16 phase, and also admitted United have a terrible away record in Europe, but when it comes down to it there's no shame in winning now is there? Sure beats a draw doesn't it.

Morally I think Celtic did better. A big team beating small opposition is not the same as a small team drawing with a big team, but of course a win is good.

Lets put it in simple terms.

Man Utd were expected to beat Lille..........for gods sake they sound like a flower or something.

Celtic were not expected to do well against Milan. We got a draw and its now been a while since we lost a champions league goal at Parkhead. In fact a certain Mr Larsson was the last player to score AGAINST us at CP in a champions league match. God i miss Henke

Heart broken

Well i guess its better than getting pumped by amateur pig farmers like in ye olde days, but its always the same. Just when you think you have a chance it gets quickly snatched away.

Ah well.

Always the Old Firm game to look forward to on Sunday :thumbsup2:

yeah, but it was the furthest we'd been in a long time, and it's no shame to lose 1-0 over 2 legs and extra-time to AC. I'm sure the team will be even better next year, so with any luck they'll keep the momentum going.

The old-firm game seems almost a laugh after this though. Still, it's always good to hump the huns! haha
