OK - Lithuania and The Faroes are not the greatest opposition, but they are exactly the sorts of team the boys in blue have had trouble beating in the past.

haha yeah, only France, Ukraine and Italy to worry about now! We might do well against Georgia though... a plucky 4th place if we're lucky, but you never know - stranger things have happened

It has been a memorable night for Scotland at Hampden Park with Scotland claiming a famous victory over World Cup runners-up France.

Walter Smith's side were under the cosh for long periods but kept battling and got their reward when Gary Caldwell netted the winner from a rare corner.

Scotland move three points clear of the French at the top of Group B as they maintain their 100% winning start to their qualifying campaign.

I was watching the game on ESPN - Tommy Smyth and Derek Rae - marvelous commentary - The mention the 'dark days of the Bertie Voglts period" " a Gargantuan task" " a cocofany of sound" excuse the spelling!!!\
