it doesn't matter now really, i was only trying to bring about some sort of truce - but i was thinking, and i did to say 'to some', but to some, it could fit into a larger pattern of coverage in the media and through blogs etc that portrays iran in a negative light, and could reinforce any false perspective they may have that iranians are somehow backwards or uncivilized people and that the wests 'interference' in iranian matters would be to their benefit - just like we liberated the iraqi's you know ... that shouldn't be the case of course and i know this wasn't on kates mind when she wrote her piece, shes the last one up for war, and to anyone who pays attention to whats going and really reads her article thats pretty clear - but to the casual observer, even the words iran and homophobia are enough for some people to want to start lining up tanks to liberate them - i think thats what mandy was trying to get at
